Majestic Hotel, Asteras Villas, Dana Villas

I’m a bit behind on my blog posts so gonna combine a few here for the next post.

Santorini has an enormous directory of places to stay – from camping, b&b’s, apartments, to luxury suites. During our week here, we were fortunate to experience three different hotels here.

The Majestic Hotel

This was the first hotel we stayed at upon arriving to Santorini. It was just south of the main town of Fira, not more than a 10 min walk from here. We initiatially picked this place due to the good reviews and special deal where the 3rd night stay was free. Normally the rate for our East Sea view suite was $188/night. Our cost came out to about $350 for the three nights.

The hotel was quite big as they had around 60 rooms for accommodation. Our suite was pretty nice. Spacious with multiple windows so the natural light brightens everything. The bed was upstairs so it was like a loft. The sofa can convert to two twin beds so 4 people can stay in fact. We have the balcony facing the East sea. Here are some pics:

Asteras Villas

Our honeymoon suite after the wedding. A really nice place! A major reason why we chose this hotel – outdoor jacuzzi facing the caldera! Too bad we didn’t take advantage of it as we only stayed two nights there. The first night we crashed pretty fast after the wedding so we only got a chance to use it the next day.

Breakfast – you order what you want the day before and they bring it up to your suite for you. Food quality was very good.

Dana Villas

After the two night stay in Asteras, we were suppose to leave for Mykonos on Sunday. However, we had to stay one more night as we had to sign the papers at town hall on Monday to be officially married.

Originally we would have just went online to book any decent place as we didn’t want to stay an extra night at Asteras and pay an extra €230 for another night…but we got hooked up big time! Since we had our wedding at the Dana Villas terrace, the owner offered us €100 for a nights stay at his hotel. The rooms normally start at €220/night so we were very appreciative of the gesture of course and accepted.

The next day we checked in…just when we thought that it was going to be the basic suite, he puts us in the VIP suite! This suite was huge – at least 1000sq ft I think. Large living room area and has two separate bathrooms (one with a big jacuzzi), and the front balcony overlooks the caldera with a sunset view. This suite probably runs at least €300/night I’m sure. Anyway, pics!
